- About Me:
It was a weekend in 2008 when my mother made the very first engineering project I had seen in my life. It was the most remarkable thing an 8-year-old had ever seen. The project was made out of a cardboard box using some LEDs, batteries, and wires. On the top of the box, there were names of different countries and their capitals. The way it worked was that if I connected the wire of a capital with the country it belonged to, then both the capital and the country name would light up. It was a wonderful piece of work. It felt like magic in a box. Since that weekend in 2008, I have always been in love with how science and engineering can be used to create projects that leave a real-life impact.
Building a project is a combination of making the mechanical chassis, doing the electronic circuitry, and programming the system. It is a fusion of everything to make one. I desire to make the whole rather than a segment, which is why as a mechatronics engineer, I aim to integrate mechanics, electronics, computer science, and control theory within product design and manufacturing to improve/optimize product functionality.
I am captivated by the entire journey of a project becoming a “product” therefore, I actively try to learn and gain experience in business skills such as marketing, effective communication, emotional intelligence, finance, and project management.
• Short Term Goal:
I am enthusiastic to undertake a master’s degree in “Engineering Management”. I believe doing courses on enterprise, strategic management, marketing, and ideation will help me in achieving my future aspirations. I also want to gain hands-on experience in the engineering industry, technology market, and business infrastructure to widen my experience of the world around us.
• Future aspirations:
Albert Einstein once said, “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile”. His quote resonates perfectly with my altruistic nature. For me to be truly happy I seek to find work that aligns with my values and allows me to be independent so that I can learn and grow alongside the people I am helping. When this happens, I finally feel as if I am fulfilling my life’s mission, contributing to the well-being of humanity on a personal level. In the workplace, I tend to thrive when there are opportunities to express my creativity and insight. I am especially motivated when I know that what I am doing has meaning. Thus, my life’s mission is to one day soon in the future, launch my venture in entrepreneurship to create products and services that serve humanity and the environment.

Research and Development Intern
Research And Development Intern at the Robot Design and Development Lab (RDDL) at the National Center of Robotics and Automation (NCRA) at the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CEME), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). RDDL lab is one out of the eleven labs in the consortium of thirteen universities for the National Centre of Robotics and Automation in Industry. As a part of the Biomedical team, I worked on “Designing and Modeling a Stairlift Assembly using Harmar Pinnacle SL600HD as a Reference”. The internship gave me a great opportunity to familiarize myself with the ongoing research projects at NCRA. I also got an insight into the best practices of research and development. Learning 3D printing, reverse engineering, and polishing my design and modeling skills was a wonderful experience for my first internship.
Business Operations Intern
Business, Operations and Marketing Intern - An internship in business, operations, and marketing from Bright Network was a wonderful learning experience for me. I got the opportunity to learn immensely from Bright Network partners such as Google, Nestle, Virgin Media, BBC Studios, Enterprise, British Airways, and Gartner. I got an insight on the following topics: • How to structure a sales pitch - Marvin Adomako @ Google • Introduction to HR management at Enterprise - Graeme Butler & Sophie Draper @ Enterprise • Impactful e-commerce strategies - Sheree Barker @ Nestlé • Delivering innovative digital solutions - Natalie Cutten @ Virgin Media • A BBC case study: Taking an idea to reality - Vanessa Hamilton @ BBC Studios • Problem-solving - Helen Roberts & Mel Kose @ British Airways • Digital marketing - Lisa Hibbitt & Melanie Fitzgerald @ Google • Leadership - Ben Triggs @ Bright Network • Negotiation - Jake Schogger @ City Career Series • CV & application tips - Luke Rogers & Abby Bryson @ Gartner We also had to do a work sample to devise a marketing proposal for a London-based floral company to expand its business to a different city in the UK using £50,000. The work sample gave me practical experience on how marketing especially digital marketing is done.
Engineering Intern
Engineering and Infrastructure Intern - An internship on Engineering and Infrastructure with sessions on the following topics gave me an insight into how engineers work in the industry and what projects they are involved in: • Impactful Product Design by Ashton Snook @ Vodafone • Future of Automation at Nestlé by Nick Feakes • Role of a principal electronics engineer David Chapman plays in making a turbine at @ Rolls-Royce • Andrew Earnshaw and Tony Espley @ PA Consulting shared the projects done at PA Consulting which was really exciting to see. Taking sessions on the following topics not only strengthed my technical skills but soft skills as well: • Problem Solving from Raluca Ciungu @ Vodafone • Collaboration by Loretta Cooper @ Bright Network • Leadership by Helder Velho @ Amazon • CV and Application Tips from Kirby Brennan @ Amazon The best part of the internship for me was getting to work on the sample problem given by Ramsay Black & Rob Mckay @ PA Consulting which was to \"Design an Automated System for Electrical and Electronic Waste Recycling\". Brainstorming ideas, researching, and working to design an automated system for WEEE recycling gave me a hands-on experience of what an engineer might encounter in his day-to-day life in the industry. I got rather too passionate 😅 about the topic and ended up writing a thorough report on my design that can be seen in my publications.
