Produce and maintain high-quality construction layouts

Produce required documentation required by third-party building practitioners to ensure compliance of design within the National Construction Code.

Participate in product development programs in the form of research, deriving testing programs and attend stakeholder meetings.

Offer engineering support to all category managers as reasonably requested

Review test reports and data to provide by third parties to form a professional analysis for product stake holders.

• Develop detailed designs for mechanical equipment and controls.
• Provide details on component descriptions.
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
• Draw in minute details of structures.
• Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings.
• Create and store drawings electronically.
• Program drawings into automated manufacturing systems.
• Prepare variations of design.

• Conducting and supporting scientific investigations and Research.
• Planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials
• Writing reports, reviews and summaries
• Conducting searches on identified topics relevant to the research;
• Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.
• Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments
• Carrying out risk assessments.
• Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.

• Continuous training of production workers in process to insure understanding and the relationship to quality and cost.
• Provide technical support for engineering on process related items.
• Strive to utilize state-of-the-art technology for equipment processes to keep Empire competitive.
• Oversee, maintain, and improve automation in all manufacturing departments.
• Work closely with all departments and floor personnel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, shot monitoring program and current manufacturing system.

• Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
• Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
• Constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, titrators, pipetting machines and pH meters.
• Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
• Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
