The scope of work was Community Mobilization for Water and Sanitation Hygiene to achieve and sustain Open Defecation Free environment Safe drinking water and facilitate the trainings of community resource persons and school children WASH Club supervisors and school teachers.
As Social Organizer, I worked under close supervision of the Project Management and be responsible to perform the following functions/duties/assignments:
Ø Under the supervision of the WASH Manager, implement all construction, maintenance and repair activities as defined by requirements.
Ø Supervise the WASH Engineer and other staff throughout the planning and implementation of the project activities.
Ø Support, facilitate or undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult and involve beneficiaries, key informants, actors, partners and stakeholders in all stages of project design and implementation.
Ø Work closely with WASH Project Manager in order to implement projects according to relevant local, national and international technical standards.
Ø Ensure daily monitoring of the quality of project activities and the progress of project/works implementation.
Ø Provide regular updates on progress to supervisors and other team members, including other departments and sectors as appropriate.
Ø Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for the WASH Project Manager to document office and site activities, including communications with external actors, action points, decisions / changes made, and progress, including post-impact monitoring.
Ø Ensure regular and timely reporting of problems, potential delays or risks to project implementation to the relevant supervisor, and support in the development and execution of solutions and mitigating actions. Prepare Order Request forms, Purchase Orders, Payment Requests and other standard documents to enable timely delivery of materials, works and services.
Ø Where relevant, liaise with donors and partners on project updates, site visits and other communication.
Ø Introduce the Project and Punjab Rural Support Programme in targeted communities.
Ø Build strong relationships with all stakeholders at field level and engage them in them in the smooth implementation of project activities.

Ø Ensure that each CRP in assigned communities is maintaining the record of his/her activities on the prescribed formats.

Ø Sharing ideas and experiences with management and field staff as to inculcate the spirit of debate and discussion within PRSP about the Project

Ø To ensure the coverage of hundred percent households of assigned villages /UCs for Water and Sanitation Hygiene messages ultimately resulting in creating the open defecation free environment in their assigned villages and to sustain it.
Ø Conduct strong Mobilization in assigned villages to motivate the people to construct the latrine at household level at self-help basis.
Ø Conduction of Demand Creation activities for open defecation free environment through CLTS/WINS approach.
Ø Undertaking PRA Tools and get triggering activities for ODF demand creation in communities and preparing community action plans and ensure its implementation at VWC level.
Ø Formation of Village WASH Committees in all the assigned communities and build their capacity to support all the activities in their villages.
Ø Ensure proper functioning of Village WASH Committee and maintain proper record of their meetings and activities.
Ø Sustaining demand creation in your assigned area through identification of masons, their training for construction of low cost technically feasible latrines, and taking measures for development of local sanitary mart, as per guidelines of the project document.
Ø Maintaining close contact with the officials of PHED, Education, Health and TMA/UC departments in your assigned area and keeping them on board about the activities of WASH Project.
Ø Ensure the engagement of Union Council Secretaries in Creating, declaration, verification and Certification of Open Defecation free environment in their UCs.
