Designed, planned, and implemented the National ORS Campaign in Pakistan and led the team which trained 13 million women in 80 districts in understanding diarrhea, dehydration and diarrheal complications, and preparation and administration of home-made ORS at Rs 18 per woman under funding from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for 45 districts and from government of Pakistan for 35 districts)

Designed, planned, and implemented Primary Health Care Extension Project (PHCE) for district and provincial governments, focusing at building capacities of government health officials and communities’ on MNCH, FP, disease prevention and community development. It covered 180,000 households in 13 districts. House to house baseline health census was followed by project interventions and another census at the completion of 3 years. The PHCE successfully reduced IMR from 93 to 50, U5MR 109 to 68, MMR 500 to 124, and population growth rate from 2.5 to 1.04 at the cost of Rs 93 per person per year. The project was funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Glaxo Smith Kline Pakistan)

Essential Health Care Centers in 6 Earthquake hit Districts, (Under assistance from UNICEF, designed and established 11 Essential Health Care Centers in six earthquake hit districts to ensure basic health and MNCH services on round the clock basis)

APPNA SEHAT is subsidiary of APPNA i.e., Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America and registered in Pakistan as non-governmental organization working in health and development in rural communities in ten districts of Pakistan since 1989. Its primary health care program has been successful in significantly reducing maternal and infant mortality (from 600 to 73 and 120 to 27 respectively), and population growth rate (3.7 to 1.4) through health education and community development interventions focused on MNCH, Family Planning, Infectious Disease Prevention, Nutrition, Hygiene and Sanitation. This primary health care program has nearly 300 regular employees throughout the country.
Selected to lead APPNA SEHAT team at regional and then was promoted to lead at national level with the responsibilities to successfully implement APPNA SEHAT primary health care and development program, coordinate with government & non government organizations and to prepare grant proposals for funding.
• Provided leadership to the regional and national implementation teams for successful implementation;
• Prepared organizational budgets and managed financial and human resources;
• Developed and successfully implemented a community development model ensuring maximal representation from entire community. The success of this model was based upon its inbuilt element of accountability within the community organizations;
• Developed baseline health census, reporting and monitoring tools;
• Developed training modules and conducted trainings of the field staff on project interventions;
• Facilitated numerous self-help based community development initiatives including establishment of sewing schools, establishment of water schemes for villages, cleaning of village ponds and drainage systems, building of school walls, construction of latrines for schools, etc.;
• Prepared successful grant proposals.

Participated in Development of Country Health Plan for President’s Task Force on Human Development, Pakistan (President’s Task Force was set up by the President of Pakistan in September 2001 to identify gaps in health, education, and development initiatives taken by the government of Pakistan and suggest ways to promote human development in Pakistan. The two- member health team (led by renowned international public health expert Dr. Frederick Shaw, Dr.PH, MPH) conducted situation analysis, verified findings with the stakeholders, and suggested required reforms in health sector for the country)

As demonstrator at King Edwards Medical College Lahore Pakistan, worked in a team headed by professor which imparted lecture and laboratory-work based pharmacology training to MBBS and BDS students and conducted pharmacological research activities.

Selected as medical officer and worked at primary healthcare facilities (one Basic Health Unit and two Rural Health Centers) in rural areas of Khushab and Bhakkar districts. My role was to:
• Manage health facilities’ resources;
• Manage outpatients, inpatients, and emergencies;
• Supervise primary health initiatives of the government like EPI, malaria control, etc.;
• Conduct training of the staff, and produced reports.
