I am currently working as Media and Communications Officer with Moawin Foundation which is a local organization that works for quality of education in Pakistan. I am responsible for the overall visibility of the project activities and dissemination of content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's vision and mission.
I previously worked with Hazza Institute of Technology as Program Coordinator on a project by Pakistan Software Export Board in providing university students with a platform to enhance their skills with the latest technologies of the IT industry that will potentially ensure their employability.
I have also worked with Rozan as Project Officer to strengthen the capacity of government and civil society institutions in preventing and responding to GBV in development and humanitarian settings. Previously, I have worked with the Aga Khan Education Service as the copy-editor for a research study, 'Diamond Jubilee to Diamond Jubilee A Journey of Inspiration that aimed to evaluate the impact, trace the history, and highlight the contributions of Aga Khan Schools towards education and economic development in Pakistan since their establishment.
Prior to that, I worked as Project Supervisor with Voluntary Service Overseas, Pakistan on a DFID funded project, Pakistan Youth Initiative, and have worked closely with youth groups to tackle development related issues at grass-roots through arts, music, sports, workshops, and dialogues in some of the most marginalized communities in Rawalpindi. I also facilitated trainings of youth on Resilience, Social Cohesion, and Active Citizenship to instill a sense of ownership in them. I addressed some of the challenges relating to youths contribution in the development process and ensured their active participation in the promotion of social cohesion by preparing them with the tools of dialogue, mediation, and dispute resolution. Moreover, I mobilized youth and communities to bring them on a platform so that they can identify issues regarding peace and community resilience in their areas and propose possible solutions for them. My past experience also includes working as Project Coordinator with Bytes for All (B4A) which focuses on advocating digital rights, freedom of expression, and civil rights to digital privacy, and in ending technology-driven GBV. At B4A I facilitated and documented capacity building workshops for journalists on Digital Safety.
I have excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills and am extremely committed and passionate towards my work that is portrayed by the tasks that I carry out with minimum supervision. In addition, I have multiple skills such as developing communication material, including, but not limited to, designing publication material, visually appealing presentations, videos, posters, and digital photography.
