I am recent Biotechnology graduate from University of Salford UK, looking forward to pursue my professional career in a challenging environment. I am an experienced Scientist with a demonstrated history of working in different research labs. I have successfully completed many research projects, independently and as part of a team.
I worked on optimising the expression and purification of two hemicellulose-degrading enzymes extracted from the gut of black slug, Arion ater. The main objective was production of novel enzymes significant to biofuel industry. I also completed a project on Hypoxia-regulated expression of miR210 in medulloblastoma cancer cells, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
In undergrad, I detected fungus-contaminated rice samples using aflatoxin as a marker and identified the strain using rhibotyping. I also worked as Laboratory Research Assistant in Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research for a year and practically studied: heavy metal analysis, synthesis of natural colours, testing milk and meat quality, product development, scientific project management and implementation. Part of my responsibities included reporting the findings to services manager and handling reports.
I am skilled in research analysis, basic and advanced molecular biology techniques, genetics, cell biology and can use basic Bioinformatics tools and Scientific equipment including PCR, qPCR, spectrophotometer, FPLC, nanodrop, AKTA, centrifuge and chromatographic, purification and cell and tissue culture techniques.
I taught GCSE and A levels students
I worked as Office Secretory (Part time)
Responsibilities included:
Keeping record of all the expenses
Arrange accommodation if the work is away from Bradford
Invoice company\'s clients on monthly basis
Looked after the correspondence between all the stakeholders
Invoice documents
Arrange meetings between company and the clients
I did internship in Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. This experience was a milestone and gave insight into scientific project management and implementation. I visited different labs to study aflatoxin detection, heavy metal analysis, water testing, synthesis of natural colours and tested milk and meat quality. Part of my responsibilities included preparing samples for the researchers, setting up equipment, running tests, interpreting results and reporting the findings to Services Manager and handling documentation.
