Categorization of Different Sized Products Using Image Processing

In the world of agile technological change, there is salient need for the top-quality services. This need can only be achieved by the precise productivity which depend on industrial automation. Industrial automation supports the idea of eminent production, contraction in production time. There is least inaccuracy and high security measures which impacts a good affect in quality. Now a days Digital Image Processing (DIP) is playing a great role in industrial automation. Digital Image Processing can be used in various applications like object detection, facial recognition, classification of objects and categorization of different sized objects. At present in majority areas of the world, categorization of different sized products is done by human labour. These products are picked and then placed by labour on different locations. This includes a high-level risk if a product is missed and the labour on duty can’t be able to pick it on the run time. The proposed project accommodates the rigorous method to detect the different sized products through image processing. A camera will capture the image of conveyer belt, and the sizes of different objects on it will be estimated by processing the captured image. Once the size of the object is determined it will be pushed on one side using a mechanical system. Hence different objects will be grouped together base of their sizes. This project can be employed in postal, food and medicine industry.
