We are looking for a seasoned Production Manager to lead and oversee all operations related to gravure printing, including lamination and slitting processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing production efficiency, ensuring high-quality output, meeting delivery deadlines, and maintaining cost-effectiveness in line with customer expectations and company goals. This role demands strong leadership skills to manage the production team, optimize resource allocation, and foster continuous operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage production schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, coordinating closely with the planning department and sales orders. Allocate machinery, manpower, and materials strategically to achieve production targets while minimizing downtime. Supervise gravure machine operators, shift supervisors, helpers, and support staff to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to timelines. Conduct daily shift meetings to review team performance and promptly resolve any operational challenges. Enforce discipline, attendance, and productivity standards across the plant workforce.
Ensure all printed products meet customer specifications and internal quality benchmarks by working in close collaboration with the QC/QA teams. Address print defects and rejections swiftly through corrective actions aimed at improving process reliability. Monitor raw material consumption, including inks, cylinders, and substrates, to optimize usage and reduce waste. Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to guarantee timely availability of materials. Maintain accurate production records, shift logs, and downtime reports to ensure operational transparency. Prepare detailed production reports for senior management, analyzing key performance indicators such as efficiency, wastage, downtime, and output per shift to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Printing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. A minimum of 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in the flexible packaging or gravure printing industry is required, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of rotogravure presses, including brands like Rotomec, Kohli, Pelican, and Uteco, as well as experience with laminators and slitters, is essential.
