Major Responsibilities:
- Implement proactive measures to ensure fault free communication to the valued customers to achieve the availability of transmission system.
- Effectively and efficiently manage FMC’s.
- Planning & Availing Maintenance Shutdowns, through Well Planned strategies, to recover Broken/High Loss Fibers and safeguarding the cable from civil works.
- Improve Network restoration time in case of breakdown.
- Manage & resolve complex OF cable faults and submit report to the SM as & when required.
- Efficient utilization of available resources and its timely forecast for procurement.
- To conduct Provisional Acceptance Testing of newly laid OFC and coordination with development wing for observing PTCL Standards.
- Initiate plans for expansion, up gradation and replacement of O.F cable where required
- Preparing and submitting Capital cost bills to civil works agencies for initiating cable relocation plans, in collaboration with Development wing.
- Planning of optical fiber media diversity to various cities & towns.
- Assure & optimize network quality by improving the sectional losses.
- Manage data base of Optical Fiber cable networks.
- Routinely monitoring the Tx/Rx Power Levels from NMS to maintain a correlation between Fiber Losses and Rx Power Levels.
- Monitor and evaluate reporting employees through goal setting and objectives
- Collaborate to arrange on job training of OFC staff regarding splicing & safety of OF Cable
