Major job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Remote maintenance and performance tuning of dedicated servers running Linux
Managing AWS and other Cloud Services.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Configure / add new services as necessary.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Perform daily backup operations, Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Monitor network to ensure 24x/7 availability to all running systems local and abroad.
Can Handle highly confidential information/material.

Skills Required:

Linux administration.
Bind, SAMBA, NFS, SVN and GitLab.
Scripting Skills (Bash/Perl)
MySQL database administration.
Installation and administration of web servers e.g Apache
Mail Servers e.g. Postfix.
Firewalls (Cisco, PF, IPTables etc.)
Virtualization Platforms (VMWARE, Oracle VirtualBox etc.)
