We are looking for a proactive and results-driven sales professional to lead and grow our presence within local trade channels, including prominent retailers such as Metro, Carrefour, Imtiaz, and Al-Fateh. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing effective sales strategies, managing relationships with wholesalers, distributors, and retailers, and driving business growth through targeted market expansion. This role demands a hands-on leader capable of overseeing a field sales team, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and consistently achieving sales targets in a competitive FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies specifically designed for local trade channels including Metro, Carrefour, Imtiaz, and Al-Fateh.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with rice wholesalers, superstores, distributors, and retailers to maximize market penetration and brand visibility.
- Manage product listings, pricing strategies, shelf placement, and promotional activities within retail chains to boost sales performance.
- Lead negotiations concerning bulk orders, trade discounts, and shelf space allocation to optimize sales opportunities.
- Regularly monitor sales performance and collect market feedback to refine distribution and marketing tactics.
- Supervise, train, and motivate the field sales team to ensure that sales targets across territories are consistently met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and accounts departments to guarantee timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Identify and pursue new geographic markets and cities to expand the brand’s footprint and increase market share.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline; an MBA is an added advantage.
- Between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in rice, FMCG, or local food trade sectors.
- Strong knowledge of the Pakistani modern trade landscape and wholesale distribution networks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills essential for managing both relationships and teams effectively.
- Willingness to travel extensively across various cities to engage customers and oversee market operations.
- Basic understanding of packaging types, pricing models, and product branding relevant to the industry.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Established professional connections with local retail chains such as Imtiaz, Carrefour, and Metro are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in launching new SKUs or brands within the market.
- Familiarity with rice varieties including 1121, Super Basmati, PK-386, and IRRI-6.
