Job Responsibilities

Manage, design, develop, construct, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely, cost effective and sustainable manner. Excellent quality of deliverables should always be the first priority.
Analyze building plans and blueprints to ensure they are accurate and feasible
Direct and supervise building contractors, labour and supervisors to ensure compliance with set standards and specifications and given drawings
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and management to design and implement an efficient system of operation
Carry out cost estimates of construction materials and labour to determine a project budget
Oversee the procurement of select materials, labour and component for a construction project
Lead and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
Ensure building operations are in compliance with government housing laws and building codes
Sketch and design building plans by hand drafting or with the aid of CAD programs
Oversee the installation of electrical, structural and fire protection systems to ensure a safe and efficient setup
Conduct tests to determine the structural integrity of a building against seismic vibrations
Evaluate the efficiency of fire alarms, lightening protection and other safety add-ons to ensure they are operational
Adjust a building plan to contain additional components/sections as may be required by clients
Perform materials testing to verify the quality of procured materials or components
On site day to day management of the work in progress. Monitor progress, compile reports of project status and report to the management
Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials. Manage and control sub-contractors and ensure quality & timeliness of the work
Establish and manage SOP’s & control environment. Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc. and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required

Qualifications and experience required

BE in Architectural/Civil Engineering from a reputable university
Post qualification experience of 7 to 10 years. Experience should include managing, designing, developing, creating, executing, delivering and maintaining high rise building construction projects independently from start to end
Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar. Primavera experience is required
Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
Excellent project management and supervision skills
Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
