The Role: Assistant Editor - Real Estate

Grade (relevant for internal applicants only): 08A

The Location: Islamabad, Pakistan

Shift: This is a permanent night shift role (9.00 p.m to 6.00 a.m)

The Team: Our digital newsroom of is dedicated to delivering readers actionable news on financial markets around the world. With a global newsroom of more than 250 reporters and editors across five continents, you will have the opportunity every single day to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and to develop a close team dynamic with co-workers from around the globe.

The Impact: The assistant editor plays a key role in publishing, assigning and writing articles covering banking and financial services news in the U.S. and uses proven news judgment to determine coverage and provide mentorship for writers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in producing clean and concise copy on deadline
Help craft our coverage by contributing story ideas, vetting news leads, and compiling and/or editing daily and weekly features
Collaborate with editors across the team to monitor news
Continue to increase own industry knowledge, drawing on in-house training tools and other resources
Write stories, as and when needed
Coach and mentor team members

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Minimum of a Bachelor's/College Degree
At least 2-3 years of working experience as a writer or editor
A strong interest in business news
Ability to communicate and oversee effectively and collegially with team members
Ability to move quickly from one task to another
Meticulous attention to detail; dedication to producing quality product; deadline conscious
Eager to learn new things and be a great teammate
Ability to work under tight deadline
Flexibility to work in the night shift
