The Role: Assistant Manager, Channels Tech Specialists

The Team: Channels Tech Specialists team plays a key role in the Channels Solutions business of S&P Global by utilizing diverse skills set and providing high quality technical support to clients. The team has a global presence and works together within and across multiple specialized functions. The team collaborates with the Channels Product Specialists and Commercial teams to provide customers with best-in-class technical support for all the products in the Channels Solutions suite.

The Impact: You will be part of a high performing team that focuses on improving the client experience by providing customized solutions. You will focus on managing team and ensuring that all customer deliverables are provided in a timely manner and meet the client’s objectives. You will also work closely with different stake holders like Channels Solutions Architects, Channels Solutions RMs and product management in providing technical support to clients.

What’s in it for you

• Work closely with Enterprise Product Specialists, Product, and Commercial teams to research and solve problems, providing SQL query and API coding support to clients
• Exposure to multiple RDBMS, various API Web Services and best-in-class data of S&P Global
• You will work with a global Solutions Architect and Sales team responsible for enterprise products like API and Xpressfeed.
• This is the place to hone your existing database and leadership skills while having the chance to become exposed to fresh and divergent technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Data Lake, Workbench etc.,)
• As a critical member of the team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a global stakeholders and improvise the client experience..

Responsibilities:

• Play functional and managerial role
• Manage the Tech specialist team and mentor them in growing needs.
• Make team understand client needs and provide best-in-class tech support
• Be a Product specialist for the Enterprise Solutions and provide in-depth technical assistance to clients.
• Assist in deployment and troubleshooting on-the-go.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of products from a content and delivery standpoint, and assist with pre and post Sales’ opportunities.
• Bring new ideas for innovation and automation excellence into the support process and build projects that will help replicate and resolve client issues.
• Quickly absorb the product changes from clients’ perspective and offer solutions accordingly
• Be a subject matter expert for Channels Solutions product

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science or other relevant field
• 4-6 years of work experience
• Solid communication skills (English verbal & written)
• Good hands-on experience in at least one of the RDMS (MSSQL/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL)
• Experience on Web Protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, etc.) & features/commands
• Network & Security Protocols (Web Sockets, TCPIP, SSL, TLS, etc.)
• Good understanding to WINDOWS, UNIX or LINUX environments.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to execute independently.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year prior team leadership experience
• Experience with feed, API and Webservice products
• Knowledge on Oracle/PostgreSQL
