Specialist Finance

The Role:

As a Specialist Finance, you will be maintaining accounting and financial records, performing routine financial operational activities, ensuring all work practices, processes and procedures are in line with requirements of the jurisdictional laws and rules of the country, company policies and procedures. In addition to this, managing the provident fund including fund accounting and handling external financial reporting.

The Location:

Islamabad, Pakistan.

Work Shift:

This is a Morning shift position. You should be flexible to work on any other shift depending on the business need.

The Impact:

Being a Specialist Finance you shall be handling monthly accounting close activities including account reconciliations for the company and the provident fund. Maintenance and testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations. Part of the corporate team-leading various activities in different domains of Finance.

The Team/Business:

The Finance department is responsible for accounting, financial reporting & analysis and internal controls for all of the commodity groups and the functional departments. The Finance team strives in providing governance and assistance in the maintenance of accounts related policies and methodologies. The Finance team is also responsible to ensure compliance with local rules, regulations and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:

• You would be dealing with financial reporting (internal and external) as per US GAAP and IFRS while maintaining strong internal controls
• You will deal with all the taxes and returns
• You will be leading month-end closings and preparing account reconciliations
• You will be managing provident fund affairs and compliance to laws

Ad-Hoc Activities Include;

• Preparation and posting journal entries (activity that can be partially automated for certain entries)
• Assisting in the monthly, quarter and annual closes (certain activities of closes can be automated such us reports/ automated variances calculation/ stat books based on Oracle PL, when possible)
• Preparing analysis of accounts under his/her responsibility.
• Preparing accounts reconciliation of less complex accounts (rules can be setup to reconciled accounts automatically)
• Support for Accounts payable and related issues
• Tax challans / workings/ return filings.
• EOBI/Provident Fund reconciliation 
• T&E claims processing
• T&E claims processing
• Input Data for Payroll 
• Document Control
• Record of Company Licenses 

Qualifications:

• CA Inter or ACCA qualified with minimum 3-year article-ship completed from a Big4 audit firm along with 2-3 relevant industry experience
• Prior working experience of managing provident funds (preferable but not mandatory)
• Attention to detail
• Sound professional with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong command on MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good working knowledge of Tax laws, applicable corporate laws and provident fund rules.
• Prior working experience of managing provident funds (preferable but not mandatory)

• Should be a team player
