Job Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and managing quality assurance initiatives, the right candidate will he a hands-on manager for a mid-size QA team in an Agile/Srcrum environment. The manager will provide scheduling to meet delivery dates, both minimizing and managing risks for each release.
General Job functions
- Manage, lead projects and mentor QA engineers
- Manage all aspects of quality assurance
- Setup an automated testing environment and work with the QA team to develop automated test cases
- Coordinate integrated tests among all internal and client teams
- Responsible for documenting defects based on a specified time frame
- Set objectives and priority for team members
- Manage risks by providing guidance and solutions
- Responsible for meeting schedule and quality requirements
- Validate and/or document test cases built by team members
- Demonstrated experience leading quality assurance initiatives for multiple projects, including requirements validation, test scenarios and automated tests development, and integrated tests
- Proven experience with managing the development life cycle and project management methodologies
- Master the quality assurance processes and validation measurements for all types of tests (functional, load, performance, etc.)
Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance professional in both manual and automated testing using tools like Selenium or SauceLabs
- Prior management experience required
- Experience with test automation for web applications IS A MUST
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, demonstrate strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Experience with testing for Software Vulnerabilities like SQL-Injection and Cross-site Scripting (XSS)
- Experience with defining and implementing QA standards
Leading / Communication:
- Working with Development and QA Engineers - Develop scope, plan, estimate and schedule QA activities
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to QA processes and systems
- Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate an idea, concept, or position on topics within the QA/Test domain.
- Theability to make well-reasoned decisions by carefully listening to andcritically evaluating evidence and arguments made by various teammembers.
- Proven ability to write concise, complete, well organized bug reports, test cases, and status reports.
Mentoring / Management:
- Ability to evaluate your team’s skills and through hands on work and mentoring, help them continually grow their testing and technical skills.
- Document all stages of the QA process to define & improve best practices in the Software Testing space.
- A demonstrated ability to translate broad goal-oriented direction into specific plans and tasks for you and your team.
- Asolid history of executing on tasks based on your plans (and those fromothers) and adapting to changes in plans gracefully and helping your teams learn to do the same.
- Perform test case reviews and provide feedback to team members in developing appropriate test cases and strategies
- Provide technical guidance and help in developing technical skills
- Help provide understanding of test systems and architecture
Testing / Process:
- Experience working with Agile teams. Scrum experience preferred.
- Experience using source control tools (e.g., GitHub).
- Thorough knowledge of software development, configuration management, release processes
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of Open Source development platforms (LAMP – Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Docker, Rancher)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of Web and mobile
- Experience testing API’s
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Education Required
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related experience
