Job Summary:

 To provide over all leadership, direction and coordination of all OHS related activities. Establishment of OHS, as per GOHS requirement, for both Plant.

Principal Duties:

•      Establishment and implementation of Occupational Health Services as per the requirement of GOHS (Global)

•      To organize and supervise functions of Occupational Health related issues and provide overall leadership, direction and coordination of all OHS (Occupational Health Services) related activities. Establish priorities and strategies.

•      Develop and administer medical surveillance plans that are based on best occupational health practices, cost effective and appropriately utilized resources. Monitor and control expenses and to manage cost in achieving objectives.

•      To address work related injuries timely and assist EHS team in finding the root cause.

•      To identify employees and conduct medical surveillance in accordance with surveillance/screening procedures.

•      Communicate medical surveillance / screening results to the employees.

•      To communicate to employees on OHS issues and to conduct employee training on First Aid, CPR, AED, and Occupational health related topics.

•      To maintain and update employee confidential medical records and document all provided occupational health services in employee medical record. Develop a database of Abbott employee work related injuries and illnesses.

•      To work with EHS Manager to develop an injury minimization action plan.

•      Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.

•      Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.

•      Case identification and further working for application to Annual Global Ergonomic Funding.

•      Near Miss and Potential Incidents management through assessment of reported cases, follow up with concerned departments and rectification
