- Experience of managing a production setup of Oracle with high availability through RAC (Real application cluster)
- Cluster management besides the regular stand alone DB management
- Managing migration of data between Production, Staging, Testing environments as and when needed
- Defining DB level access control policy and maintaining it. Have experience of finding out any user's activity if required to be reported.
- Using Oracle enterprise edition tools for pre-emptive performance monitoring and giving recommendations to team to optimize queries which are effecting performance
- Implement partitioning on required tables
- Using Oracle enterprise manager to real-time monitor the DB performance and setup performance alerts on DB to alert via emails.
- Using AWR tool for performance tuning and applying corrective actions based on that in consultation with DEV team. (e.g. creating materialized view, creating indexes etc.)
- Apply any Oracle patches, upgrades as per Oracle recommendation
- Able to manage SR Tickets independently with Oracle team and correspond fluently with them for any issues that require Oracle support.
- Regular Backup of Oracle DB and verify them on periodic basis by restoring in another area and comparing backup with live reports.
- In future, when DR site is prepared then implement Oracle Active Data Guard.
