We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager who will be the cornerstone of our new operation. You will be responsible for building, training, and leading a team of accountants from scratch. You must possess a deep understanding of the Pakistani professional landscape and the technical expertise required for UK accountancy. This is a hands-on leadership role with immense growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
· Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of junior and semi-senior accountants.
· Process Development: Establish and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all accounting tasks, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
· UK Accounting Expertise: Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely delivery of services including bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and year-end financial statements for a diverse portfolio of UK clients.
· Client Liaison (Potential): Act as a key point of contact for UK partners/clients, demonstrating professionalism and a clear understanding of their needs.
· Quality Assurance: Implement a robust review system to ensure all work leaving the team meets UK compliance and quality standards.
· People Management: Foster a positive, productive, and professional work environment that understands and adapts to both UK business culture and Pakistani team dynamics.
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, ICAEW) is highly preferred.
· 5-8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years specifically in a role serving UK clients.
· Proven experience in team management, mentoring, or team leadership.
· In-depth, hands-on knowledge of key UK accounting software: Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage.
· Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102/105), VAT, and Corporation Tax.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate a team and manage stakeholders.
· A "can-do" attitude, high integrity, and the resilience to thrive in a startup environment.
