Position Objective

This position is dedicated to Health including coordination with IP for setting up Mobile Health camps in Kambar Shahdadkot and Khairpur, alongwith planning and supervising the distribution of nutrition commodities.The expert is expected to spend 70% of his time in the field, whilst training, supervision and technical support to the field team.

Mission 1: Plan, implement and monitor Mobile medical camp modality with IPs (60%)

·        With HOD N&H and IPs, finalise the SOPs for mobile medical camps at Kambar and Khairpur to provide on spot basic medical services to flood affectees.

·        Finalise the modus operandi for the mobile camps.

·        Ensure quality procurement for medical supplies by IPs by actively participating in the procurement procedure and ensure adherence to QUAMED list

·        Ensure quality of services, (basic health services, ANC.PNC, referrals, first aid) that are being provided at the camps by routine and regular monitoring.

·        Conduct capacity building need assessment and establish technical areas that requires training and on job support among the team.

·        Based on identified needs, develop capacity building plan in collaboration with HOD N&H

·        Ensure continuous supervision and technical support to the field teams and activities.

·        Develop the SBCC and community awareness sessions and activities as per context and implement the strategy in community

Mission 2: Plan and implement distribution of Nutrition commodities and on job coaching on IYCF-E and general health sessions (30%)

·        Devise distribution plan for Nut commodities at the mobile medical camp. On job coaching on the outreach staff on beneficiary selection for MNP distribution.

·        Supervise the selection of beneficiaries

·        Train relevant outreach workers regarding use of MNP and ensure that the distribution is in line with defined ACF protocol, and end users are made aware regarding the use and benefits of MNP use.

·        In coordination with MEAL, ensure post distribution monitoring in done to verify beneficiaries.

·        Provide ongoing support to outreach workers to complete the subject task.

·        Design a IYCF-E training package for outreach worker, according to international standards and protocols in coordination with HOD N & H.

·        Adapt or prepare coaching and training materials and sessions for the field team based on the protocols validated by ACF CO.

·        Conduct basic and refresher trainings on technical aspects and support conduction of other ad hoc training sessions, coaching and on-the–job support based on identified needs.

·        Ensure continuous supervision and technical support to the field teams and activities

Mission 3: Reporting, monitoring and evaluation (10%)

·        In collaboration with PM, HoD Health and Nutrition, conduct regular  review meetings – (on program outcomes and supervision)

·        Report operational bullet-point as part of the monthly activity report for HOD H&N & PM to follow up on capacity building, key activity issues, including recommendations

·        Ensure capitalisation and learning of program documentation, case studies and success stories in collaboration with the HOD H&N & PM, MEAL department.

·        Contribute to the setting of a standard monitoring and evaluation databases for programs, in close collaboration with the PM, Head of Department and MEAL department.

Mission 4: Ensure compliance with ACFs gender equality, child protection sensitivity and Safeguarding policies

·        Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender, Child Protection and other safeguarding policies  

·        Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens

·        Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability

Specific skills needed to perform the function

·        Strong Capacity building / Training Skills

·        Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills

·        Able to analyze and summarize complex technical and contextual information

·        Fluent in English, reading writing and speaking. Fluency in Sindhi, language of the program implementation area will be preferred

·        Excellent computer skills

·        Team management skills

·        Ability to handle stress and pressure

Qualifications

·        MBBS/MD, with valid licence to practice

·        MPH will be added benefit

·        Minimum 02 years of overall experience with at least 01 year of experience in health camps

·        Previous experience in training of psychosocial workers, project officers and volunteers

·        Knowledge or Experience in working with partners

·        Previous experience with ACF is an asset

·        Local candidates will be preferred
