Objective 1

Effective implementation of program activities

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Define program implementation modalities (targeting criteria, mobilization modalities, local partnerships, monitoring systems, staff schedules, etc.)
  • Define overall CMAM implementation plan in collaboration with UC personnel to ensure the full package is planned.
  • Plan and deliver trainings with support capacity building team on CMAM and IYCF to external stakeholders ( PPHI, INGO and NGOs) as well as internally (other DoH departments, nutrition staff)
  • Ensure sound monitoring of program activities.
  • Ensure that logistics and administrative arrangements are made timely with the concerned departments In collaboration with UNICEF, and Administration, responsible for Nutrition program.
  • Ensure provision of equipment, materials, supplies and drugs as necessary
  • Assess the needs of identified locations with local authorities and health personnel (HR, material/training needs, etc.)
  • Ensure timely submission of all reports from Nutrition department respectively Culster and UNICEF.
  • Ensure the implementation of activities defined by the Deputy Program Manager in coordination with the Logistics and Administration departments
  • Develop plan of work for OTP, SC and IYCF activities according to the expected progress of the project
  • Liaise with concerned health facilities and ensure the programme strategy, objectives and activities are understood and agreed and appropriate communication channel is in place
  • Ensure maintaining of databases by data person and creating high quality reports, presentations, and other documents
  • Involve in the preparation of key IYCF and health messages in reference to the existing health and nutrition education materials
  • Organize weekly, monthly meetings with the team and report the outcome to deputy programme manager along with proposed action plan
  • Supervising treatment and progress of patients
  • Ensuring IYCF education is disseminated to the target beneficiaries
  • Ensuring adherence to and respect of current protocols
  • Analysing nutrition situation and prevailing trends
  • Compiling statistical data and draft appropriate reports on activities
  • Document lessons learned and best practices at the program/District level
  • Supervise the daily and monthly reporting submitted by field the teams
  • Provide technical support to IYCF, OTP, SC team when required

Objective 2

Team Management

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Oversee all staff for the nutrition project including regular performance evaluations, management, general well-being, work plans, discipline, etc. in co-ordination with DPM in accordance with ACF International  HR policies and guidelines.
  •  Provide technical support to staff and promote learning based on project objectives and activities and ensure documentation and sharing of learning with other sectors and programs.
  • Ensure that staff responsibilities are clearly defined and understood, with performance objectives set against work plans and regularly monitored.
  • Adhere to and ensure Security Protocols are followed by Nutrition teams both when in Office and field areas as per project.
  • Organize regular evaluation meetings of team members
  • Take appropriate measures in case of conflict and breach of policies.
  • Conduct training need assessment with the support of DPM and identify training needs, and supervise the technical training of national nutrition staff members.
  • Keep an updated register of the staff (absences, etc)

Objective 3

Representation and coordination

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Coordination and participation in district cooridnation meetings and nutrition assessment/ survey groups and filing of meeting mintues in the absence of DPM.
  • Coordination with DOH, PPHI, implementing partners, DHO and any other stakeholders involved in nutrition at district.
  • Development of network with other actors in the area as well as community leaders/representatives
  • Represent ACF nutrition programs when and if necessary vis-a-vis donors during their field visits
  • Identify structures where stakeholders are willing and motivated to integrate nutrition Project into the health system.
  • Ensure communication and coordination between the SC, OTP, and out reach team
  • Conduct regular meetings with other program staffs in ACF and other NGOs to discuss and document lessons learned.

Objective 4

Nutrition supplies, equipments and stock management

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Moniter stocks physically at Health Facility level, check for expiry date, quality and quantity
  • Checking  that all the supplies are listed in the stock register, bin cards are visible.
  • Participate in the follow-up of supplies consumption and orders
  • Ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for the functioning of SC and OTP (weekly, monthly or quarterly)
  • Make monthly physical inventory of all nutrition supplies
  • Raising relevant requests for supplies and stock well prior in time to prevent exhaustion of stocks and supplies for interventions.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIP

Internal

  • Understanding their employee and ability to resolved conflict and other key issues.
  • Coordination and working together with DPM for Capacity Building of project staff and health facility staff.

External

  • Excellent external relation and  Coordination with DOH, PPHI and stakeholder who are involved in Nutrition activities.
  • Establish strong relation with DOH, PPHI and Local authorities and local partners for their collaboration in activities implementation.

    

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES

·     Analyse, compile and submit weekly and monthly routine CMAM/IYCF and community mobilization reports

·    Ongoing communication with DPM/ Deputy field CO and nutrition Coordinator.

·    Technical input in donor reporting
