RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance of vehicle on daily basis and keep it in good condition.
  • The Maintenance control and Inspection Sheet shall be printed and filled in on a weekly basis: any problem must be reported to Transport Assistant.
  • Undertake daily checking on vehicle (according to instructions given in the logbook).
  • Update the logbook for every trip (all contents must be filled in, ensuring signature of carried passenger in charge).
  • Ensure that passengers sign the logbook after each trip with exact mileage, destination, purpose of trip, name, and signature.
  • Wash and clean the vehicle weekly, washing the chassis upon need.
  • Report any defects to the Logistic Officer without delays.
  • Take care of the security of passengers and make sure seat belts are fastened for all passengers while driving.
  • Keep the speed limit of 40 km/h on non-asphalted road and 90 km/h in asphalted road while out of cities on missions: respects traffic speed limits while driving between cities.
  • Reduce speed to 50 km/h in any populated area.
  • Respect the security distance behind any vehicle on the road (20m above 50Km/h, 50m at more than 50Km/h);
  • Take responsibility for the use of the car and choice of appropriate routes in regard to security.
  • Shall never follow any order regarding the increase of speed.
  • Load and unload the vehicle; properly roping down the loading of the vehicle.
  • Check and take care of the tools, toolbox, first aid kit (replacement of consumables, expiry date of its content), spare tire and other materials in the vehicle (see tools box inventory with Logistics Officer).
  • Check fuel delivered and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure small maintenance of the vehicle.
  • Check all the drivers’ logbooks in office;
  • Check all tools needed for small repairs in rental and ACTED cars;
  • Help Transport Assistant for mechanical defects of ACTED & rented cars.

The Driver is responsible for all above responsibilities in front of Logistic Department and will report to Transport Assistant / Supervisor.
