ABOUT ACTED PAKISTAN:

ACTED is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to principles of non-discrimination and transparency. ACTED has been present in Pakistan since 1993 and currently supports communities in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Azad Jammu Kashmir. ACTED Pakistan programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Project Objective

Reference to the huge devastation of the recent flood, which resulted in damages of more than 19000 schools across Pakistan. According to ESWG updates more than million children across Pakistan are left with no access to teaching and learning process.  ACTED- Pakistan in partnership with UNICEF is struggling to outreach these children either by establishing temporary Child Friendly Spaces and safely re-open public sector schools to reconnect children with formal teaching & learning process. The intervention is planned to established 131 CFS across Sindh provinces of Umerkot & Kandhkot While 372 Public schools will be made functional through de-watering, minor rehab and capacity building of teachers, community and officials & provision of psychosocial support to coup up with this traumatic situation

 

  • The Training Technical Coordinator shall be responsible for:
  • Ensuring access to inclusive and quality learning and play opportunities for the flood affected school children.
  • Emphasis that children of all ages from pre-primary to secondary have access to quality learning and play opportunities.
  • Help technical partner in reviewing their training manual.
  • Support and ensure hand on trainings on teaching learning, safe guarding and child protection and timely implementation.
  • MHPSS and GBV to support the well-being of children and adolescents.
  • Capacity building of teachers by developing a variety of tools (trainings, follow-up visits, classroom based observations, periodic assessments).
  • Support the development of IEC materials and translate in local language (including reading resources, material and manuals for game/play based activities, quizzes and other learning activity materials )
  • Submission of monthly, quarterly & annually project report.
  • Ensure and make efforts for child rights implementation within the project area
  • Record keeping of field level activities
  • Prepare success stories and case studies on best practices
  • Attending consortium meetings
  • Develop and maintain proactive, positive and professional relationships with the partner organizations, donors, key local officials etc.
  • Ensure women participation in their programs;
  • Support field team to device a monitoring and tracking system to track their progress toward achieving the different objectives of the project;
  • Support program Manager and education Advisor in preparation of annual activity calendar, work plan and training events.
  • Oversee logistic arrangements related to teacher training.
  • Ready to providing field support to teachers and field staff whenever needed.
  • Ready to travel to project areas according to work plan.
