Advent Interactive is looking for an aspiring travel content writer to produce destination and related content for our website.
The writer will be responsible for managing the travel section, which would cover everything from the latest news related to travel, itineraries, blog posts, and other aspects of travel.
The successful writer will be skilled at meeting deadlines and seeking engages news associated with travel, tourism, aviation, and hospitality.
We are looking for someone who will work in a fast-paced environment and will have the expertise of turning a breaking news story to one minute and come up with an award-winning travel feature, the next, and who constantly is plugged into the latest trends and issues related to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- To write blog articles related to international travel, culture, food, and art
- Research destinations
- To write copy for tours.
- To write for newsletters and other communications sent to consumers and trade.
- To write and update destination guides, restaurant recommendations, and other materials related to destinations.
- To write website content, including tour descriptions
- To Write for other sales and marketing projects
- Selecting and editing photos to go with written content
- Contributing to social media
- Writing hotel descriptions
- Developing new tours
- Other projects and tasks
Requirements include:
- Passion for travel, culture, history, food, art, architecture, design, shopping, and other areas of interest to sophisticated, ultra-affluent travelers
- First-rate knowledge of SEO and social media
- Deep appreciation for and understanding of what makes each destination unique
- Natural curiosity and a broad range of interests
- Ability to follow company guidelines for writing style, consistency, and tone
- Ability to write clearly and succinctly about places and activities familiar and unfamiliar to you
- Keen attention to detail
- Vision, creativity, and initiative
- Experience generating story ideas
- Team player
- Knowledge of the travel industry and/or international luxury hotels is a plus.
