Afiniti uses data science to enhance human interactions in large enterprises by efficiently pairing customers with company representatives. Our current main focus is improving contact center interactions in fields ranging from telecommunications to healthcare to banking to hospitality, with millions of calls intelligently routed through our systems daily.
As our AI R&D team grows, we are looking for highly motivated individuals with extensive experience to lead future development. The position can be filled either as a Fellow (individual contributor track) or Director (management track), with particularly qualified candidate eligible to be hired as a Senior Fellow or Vice President. In this role, you will drive development at the heart of Afiniti’s intelligent routing and modeling applications. Our pairing technology requires extremely high precision estimates to operate at full performance, so we work with methods that are computationally expensive even for moderately sized datasets. This position will have ownership of developing high-performance, parallelized machine learning algorithms to suit our domain.
This position reports to the Chief Scientist.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
- Graduate Degree in a Quantitative Discipline
- Proven software engineering experience, particularly in C++
- Passion for writing beautiful code and tuning performance
- Familiarity with statistics, machine learning, Monte Carlo methods, or numerical optimization
- Demonstrated ability to manage time independently and take projects to completion
- Willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques
- Comfort working in a collaborative environment with cross-team communication to bring projects into production
Pluses:
- Ability to set up performance labs
- Management skills and the ability to build and lead multiple teams
Education
- Minimum of a Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics or other field with relevant research
Experience
- Senior Professionals are required for this role
- Experience with computationally intensive applications
- Experience with parallelization frameworks like MPI, OpenMP, or experience with GPU programming
