Afiniti uses data science to enhance human interactions in large enterprises by efficiently pairing customers with company representatives. Our current main focus is improving contact center interactions in fields ranging from telecommunications to healthcare to banking to hospitality.
As a member of the AI R&D team, you’ll work at the heart of Afiniti’s intelligent routing applications. Challenges to be tackled in this position include developing robust systems that have to make optimized choices in milliseconds, translating cutting-edge statistical techniques into production code, and building high-quality interfaces for data science pipelines. You will also set up simulation and performance labs to debug and predict the performance of our pairing software. You will work in close conjunction with researchers and other engineering teams develop and deploy our next generation of pairing algorithms.
This position reports to the Director of AI R&D.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
- Demonstrated accomplishments developing and designing production-level software packages or systems
- Strong ability to think analytically and a basic familiarity with applied statistics, simulation, or numerical optimization
- Hands-on experience with code profiling, setting up benchmarks, and perform analysis to drive architectural decisions to optimize for speed and memory utilization
- Solid written and verbal communication skills to document and explain complex systems
- Ability to manage time independently within a small, closely-knit team (including remote members) and to contribute to the development of new initiatives
- Comfort working in a collaborative environment with cross-team communication to bring tools and projects into production
- Understanding of relational databases, version control, and tools for building and managing development and testing environments
Pluses
- Experience with a language like Python or R for data analysis
- Knowledge of machine learning or statistics
- Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Building web dashboards and visualizations
- Understanding of parallel or GPU computing
- Experience in high-performance computing environments
- DevOps or continuous deployment/integration experience
Education
- Minimum of BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Operations Research, or another technical field
Experience
- Junior to Mid-Level Professionals are required for this role
- Extensive experience with C# development and writing modular and maintainable code along with unit and regression tests and conducting code reviews
