The incumbent will lead all the activities related to curriculum alignment to the national curriculum, plan for professional development exercises, support and mentor subject teachers. The person will ensure to equip teachers in accordance with the given priorities to meet the educational needs and goals which prepare the students according to the vision of the organization.

Program and Material Development
This is one of the major responsibilities of Academic Coordinator that is they have to work with the teachers.
Curriculum enrichment
It includes reviewing, enriching or developing the school syllabus for the said subject in collaboration with the teachers and other AK schools and regional office.
Professional Development
Supporting the schools in developing their respective subject in the light of their strengths and issues
Designing innovative ways to engage teachers in intellectual tasks.
Observing classrooms and conducting feedback sessions according to a set and agreed schedule
Facilitating the teachers in developing educational material as per their needs
Helping the teachers to develop their action plans for improvement
Organizing workshops, seminars and courses for various stakeholders of the schools
Providing professional support to the teachers in any other area identified by them
Supporting AKU –EB initiatives/ Middle School Program
Coordinating with AKU-EB regarding subject based curriculum development, review, e- marking etc.
Being on the subject panel of AKU-EB
Arranging sessions on assessment methods (formative and summative), SLOs, Table of specification developing reliable and valid questions items (MCQs, CRQs, ERQs).
Develop process and procedures to implement MSP program in the school

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
