The Aga Khan Foundation (Pakistan) [AKF(P)] is seeking high caliber professional for the following position to be based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

“Grants Finance Officer” (Two Positions)

The incumbent will report to Manager Grants & Contracts, AKF(P) and will be responsible for financial management and reporting of the donor funded grants.

Background:

The Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan [AKF(P)] is currently working with various Government Departments and other AKDN agencies; – the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS), Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Aga Khan Planning & Building Service, Pakistan (AKPBS,P), Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) and Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) for strengthening delivery of quality & gender responsive health services, and reduce gender and social barriers to utilization and uptake of services by women, men, girls, and boys. Besides, project interventions are also being implemented in close coordination with the Civil Society Organizations. 

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • To undertake overall financial management, grants financial reporting and meeting compliance requirements of the GAC, EU and other donors in liaison with the project managers, as well as finance and account managers of AKFs and other AKDN institutions.
  • To prepare and review budget and financial reports for quarterly, biannual and annual reporting on the project. Ensure timely flow of financial reports and relevant information to donors and AKDN agencies
  • To ensure timely submission of financial reports from implementing partners and disbursement of funds in coordination with the respective program and finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements of implementing agencies as well as and GAC, EU and other donors.
  • To conduct periodic analysis of the quarterly financial reports, including grant analysis and financial reviews; and
  • With assistance from Manager Grants & Contracts, conduct and facilitate internal and external project audit and evaluations.

Required Qualifications & Experience  

Education

  • MS Finance, MBA Finance, ICMA, CA Inter (with articles completed), M.Com or an equivalent recognized professional qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience preferably in managing projects funded by GAC, EU and other donors.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge and command of the IFRS, ISA and internal control systems.
  • Knowledge of GAC, EU and other donor Compliance and Reporting Requirements.
  • Knowledge of Financial Reporting Templates used by GAC, EU and other donors.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Urdu.
  • Highly proactive and passionate about work.
  • Capable of producing high quality results within often tight deadlines.
  • Ability for multitasking and working under pressure.
  • Ability to distill large volumes of data in short periods of time.
  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated record of professional development/growth.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work through complex models to determine the key assumptions, implicit caveats and limitations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all level of management.
