We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Manager to oversee the full accounting function for our UK-based security company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the business, including final accounts, VAT returns, self-assessment, and ensuring compliance with all HMRC and Companies House filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting function for the UK based security company.
- Prepare and finalize year-end financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK tax legislation.
- Prepare and submit self-assessment tax returns for the company and its directors.
- Maintain and reconcile financial records, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, making payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as required.
- Payroll Management with full knowledge of UK labor laws, Tax codes and employees Benefits.
- Keep up to date with changes to UK accounting and tax legislation and ensure compliance with all HMRC and Companies House filings.
- Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management to aid decision-making.
- Interacting with client via calls and emails so the candidate should have full command of Spoken English.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a UK based security company
- A recognized accounting qualification (MBA/ACCA/ACA/CIMA/BBA/BS Accounting) or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT legislation, and tax regulations
- Strong computer skills, including experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
