Job Purpose
Al-Bari Group companies is seeking a Purchasing Manager of construction material to support purchasing activities for Company's commercial construction projects.
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for negotiating and executing subcontractor and supplier contracts for multi-million dollar commercial and federal construction projects nationwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products and subcontractors;
- Monitor market conditions and equipment and materials costs;
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors;
- Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment following policies and procedures for purchasing and contract management;
- Interface with vendors, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve issues;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural or related field preferred;
- Minimum 3 years construction experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Proven negotiation skills;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines;
- Thorough understanding of construction materials and supplies;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
