The ERP/Oracle Developer has a critical role in supporting the companys Oracle-based applications by working extensively on PL/SQL programming, creating and tuning database packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and materialized views. The role involves developing unit test plans, managing application configurations, and performing data conversions and interface development to ensure smooth ERP customization and operation. Practical knowledge of version control systems and experience with complex procedure writing are essential to managing code quality and implementing enhancements. While not managing a team, the developer collaborates closely with other IT professionals and business users, driving innovation and maintaining high system performance standards for Al-Khair Gadoon Ltd.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain code using Oracle Forms 11g and Reports 11g to support the ERP environment efficiently.
- Create and execute unit test plans that ensure application functionality and robustness before deployment.
- Develop, tune, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers to improve system performance and reliability.
- Customize ERP modules based on business requirements by extending Oracle applications and creating tailored workflows.
- Implement data conversions, develop reporting solutions, and build interfaces to integrate with other systems using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Use Oracle Application Express (APEX) and report builders to design and deliver user-friendly reports and application components.
- Utilize TOAD for Oracle as a primary tool for database development, query optimization, and fault diagnosis.
- Manage source code using version control systems ensuring proper documentation and change tracking.
- Analyze system requirements and provide practical technical solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Apply performance tuning techniques to optimize database and application processes supporting business functions.
- Document development phases and monitor application performance for continuous improvement.
- Stay current with Oracle technology advancements, telecommunication, and network technologies that enhance system capabilities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues promptly.
