Alfa Web Studio is seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes customizations, plugins development & especially WordPress security. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Build fully functional WordPress websites based on business requirements and design specs
- PHP and HTML development outside of WordPress for landing pages, microsites
- Must have experience with UI, UX, WordPress
- Must be aware of design and color theories
- Convert mockups into web content using WordPress front-end-coding, building reusable code for future use
- Creating the website architecture.
- Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
- Generating WordPress themes and plugins.
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Troubleshooting content issues.
- Monitoring the performance of the live website.
- Builds, designs, and maintains all websites.
- Regulates exposure to business stakeholders and executive management as well as other authorities
- Design, writes, and edits website content.
- Understands UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
- Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
- Communicates with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders daily.
- Executes assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Word press, JQuery and APIs.
- Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
- Plans and delivers software platforms and products across multiple organizational units.
- Maintains a professional understanding of web development by tracking trends and participating in study groups.
- Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.
- Meeting with clients to discuss website design and function.
- Generating WordPress themes and plugins.
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Troubleshooting content issues.
- Conducting WordPress training with the client.
- Monitoring the performance of the live website.
Job Specifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in web design and development
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent English Communication and time management skills
- Must have strong portfolio and a "can-do" attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
