Allaid Engineering & Fmco is seeking an experienced Generator Technician Mechanical to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 9 years of practical experience in maintaining and servicing mechanical components of generators. This role involves leading a team of 20 skilled technicians to ensure that all generator systems operate smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime. A strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to manage a diverse team are essential for success in this position.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining generator reliability and performance at Allaid Engineering & Fmco. You will oversee the daily mechanical operations, coordinate repair and maintenance tasks, and train team members to uphold high standards of workmanship and safety. Your leadership will help optimize equipment uptime and support the overall mechanical integrity of the power generation systems. Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are vital for effective management of the mechanical maintenance team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 20 mechanical technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality maintenance work.
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance plans to maximize generator reliability and reduce the risk of mechanical failure.
- Diagnose mechanical faults in generators promptly through detailed inspections and testing, and carry out necessary repairs or component replacements.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with other technical departments and external vendors to facilitate complex repairs or parts procurement when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service reports, and parts inventory to support operational efficiency and audit requirements.
- Monitor the mechanical performance of generators and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance system robustness and efficiency.
- Supervise team scheduling and task allocation to optimize manpower utilization and meet maintenance deadlines.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance during emergency breakdowns to restore generator functionality as quickly as possible.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their technical competencies and promote continuous professional development within the team.
