Position Summary: 

The Job Placement Officer (JPO) will be responsible to build linkages with the employers/industries and identify jobs and internships and gain suitable job opportunities for the trained beneficiaries that match their skill sets. Develop linkages with job-market and link/connect fresh trained youth/beneficiaries with respective industries or employers in the market. Make excellent connections with potential employers to maximize the opportunity for sustainable employment or other progression opportunities for our trained beneficiaries. Conduct employability skills workshops and Labor Demand Surveys in different sectors to find out new opportunities and place the trainees in respective sectors. JPO will conduct career counseling, help developing career plan and develop business development plans. JPO will also organize job-fairs and exhibitions to promote skilled youth in the market. .JPO will also be responsible for coordination, communication and monitoring and evaluation of these job/work placements. 

Summary of key Functions/Accountabilities: 

  • Job Placement Officer will support in beneficiary selection, preparation of lists, training arrangements and follow-ups in the target communities and districts.
  • Close coordination and communication with the selected trainees/beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed work plan for proper implementation of the potential Enterprise development and job placement opportunities.
  • Maintain database of trainees on a monthly basis.
  • Organize employability skills workshops for trainees
  • Track the trainees and update their information in database.
  • JPO will also explore potential skillful masters/experts / trainers in the market that could be used for our different training sessions as per need and requirements.
  • Maintain database of different potential master trainers that can be used for delivering skill/vocational trainings.
  • Share monthly progress reports/updates.
  • Prepare/Develop CVs for all trainees.
  • Develop CV bank of trainees according to the trades and share with potential employers.
  • Maintain database of CVs of all registered trainees in an accessible and safe form
  • Compile placement information of trainees.
  • Maintain database of employers and institutions to link the trainees for placement
  • Conduct market surveys on new job trends and update the same in the database and guide trainees accordingly
  • Submit placement/ linkages status report on a regular basis i.e. monthly, quarterly and when required
  • JPO will conduct career counseling, help developing career plan and develop business development plans.
  • Advice and counsel trainees regarding Enterprise development, career selection, job searching, internship and final placements
  • Assist trainees to develop online profiles and completion of online assessment forms and tests.
  • JPO will regularly share the job notifications with Trainees through SMS/ WhatsApp, phone calls.
  • JPO will also organize job-fairs and exhibitions to promote skilled youth in the market.
  • Develop success stories and share the same on a regular basis.
  • Support for data management, reporting and capacity building.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in management/social sciences or other relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in planning, Enterprise development, training and field implementation, and/or coordination, liaison, job placement and training, relevant experience in humanitarian and emergency response and related areas, in community engagement, livelihoods, program/project development and management is an asset.
  • Excellent English and local language proficiency skills (written, reading and spoken).
  • Excellent planning, coordination, communication, capacity building & networking skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
