We are looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers/staff. Chef responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. You should be familiar with sanitation regulations. Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Chefs work with other kitchen staff to ensure that your kitchen runs effectively and they have to be experts at ensuring food quality and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Ensure that all dishes are cooked well and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way
- Oversee food preparation, checking that all kitchen staff are performing their duties.
- Monitor equipment quality and order new equipment as needed.
- Help the restaurant determine how much food and supplies need to be ordered.
- Train new kitchen staff as required.
- Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales.
- Cook food in a timely manner
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
- Supervise other Cooks/kitchen staff and assist as needed (Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests reduce salt, remove dairy)
- Monitor food stock and place orders
- Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
- Proven/Hands-on work experience as a Chef or Cook
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
- Culinary school diploma preferre
