The main aim of As-Suffa Headmistress/Head Teacher is to facilitate in instilling Islamic and Academic Knowledge for children. The objective is to teach children in order to ensure that their understanding and development of Islamic and Academic Knowledge is not hindered.

The school is primarily for under-privileged children, many without any parental support so an understanding, compassion and desire to provide the best opportunities and platform for our children is paramount, and to instil this culture and ethos throughout other staff and external parties.

RESPONSIBILITIES· To meet the set admission targets

  • To take lead in all aspect of work relating to the curriculum
  • To promote creative and innovative approaches to teaching and learning and develop resources to support this
  • To look for ways to create interest in students and teachers and raise standards of attainment.
  • To ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
  • To look for opportunities to support the development of the child
  • To act as an expert in a subject area providing support and advice to the Leadership team, and other teaching staff
  • To monitor the work of teachers and support staff
  • To carry out regular assessment of students' performance and analysis of data
  • To identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds and learning styles
  • To provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process
  • To develop, maintain and update the needs of libraries and teacher resource kit in schools
  • To show professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community
  • To ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
  • To establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and parents
  • To enhance herself professionally by attending the courses and training sessions on a regular basis
  • To remain responsible to arrange meaningful, attractive and interactive soft board displays according to the current topics
  • To assess and report subject strengths and areas for development at different Key Stages
  • To manage resources within curriculum areas e.g. equipment
  • To draw up and evaluate action plans and development plans in accordance with the Company's policy
  • To remain up to date with curriculum developments and ensure that all members of staff are aware of new initiatives and how they are going to be implemented
  • To manage student behaviour and standards e.g., Health and Safety
  • To encourage interaction and teamwork within the school, share ideas and new initiatives and identify new ways of teaching the curriculum area
  • To demonstrate gains in students' performance
  • To meet professional obligations through efficient working habits such as meeting deadlines, honouring schedules & coordinating
  • To adhere to the Company's Policies and Procedures
