The Role
- The successful candidate will be assigned to the Business Intelligence team to maintain and help evolve the organizations' data delivery and reporting with a focus on implementing best practices and adhering to UK Healthcare standards alongside an offshore team.
- The post holder will build and maintain BI infrastructure, artefacts and objects, documentation, unit testing and provide guidance to other team members and business users, preliminary with Microsoft Power BI.
- The daily activities for this position include the design, development, documentation and debugging of Power BI reports, ETL packages and OLAP cubes built with DAX.
The Person
- Candidates must have full BI project lifecycle experience from requirement gathering to data modelling and end-user reporting with Power BI.
- Candidates must also have either programming or database development background.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining dashboards/reports using Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, Excel, or other tools to encourage data driven reporting.
- Taking a pro-active approach to work and liaise with the front-end team in improving an in-house developed BI platfrom, known as “EZ Analytics”.
- Evaluating and improving existing BI systems.
- Generating and delivering quality reports to the line manager and performing quality assurance checks on reports. Using warehouse data to generate reports to support business decision making and business performance monitoring.
- Conducting troubleshooting on BI models and reports.
- Being an active team player, open to new ideas and keen on learning new technologies and tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Articulate in data modelling with DAX, Power Query, and Excel
- Advanced skills with MS Power BI (report design and deployment)
- Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server related toolstack:
- SSAS
- SSIS
- SSRS
- Advanced skills with Microsoft T-SQL
- Gather and interpret requirements
- Create detailed design documents
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing
