As a Windows Systems Administrator, your primary responsibility will be using your knowledge of Windows systems to support and contribute IT infrastructure by: Implementing routine and complex technical fixes on Windows Servers
Acting as an escalation point and subject matter expert to technical team resources
Recommending technical fixes, planning for routine changes including appropriate documentation and performing standard validations
Working with infrastructure teams to support, troubleshoot, monitor, repair routine issues and other day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining the stability, availability, and reliability of Wintel server environments
Working with colleagues, taking ownership of tasks, server builds, incidents, and client requests
Acting as lead technical consultant providing knowledge to configure, maintain, and continuously improve server, and system performance
What do you need to succeed?
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant IT experience in an infrastructure support tole
- Strong Verbal and written communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with MS Windows 2008-2019 Operating Systems, MS Cluster Services, HA, DFS, FTP, SFTP, File and Print Sharing, Security Patching, File Server Migration
- Experience with SCCM, McAfee VSE ePO, VBScript, Power Shell, IBM System Director, xClarity, MS Security Patching and Vulnerability remediation is preferred
- Knowledge of ESX VMWare & Software Deployment to server environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of server hardware currency, Firmware rollout, hardware governance, and hardware vendor management experience is an asset
- Familiarity with IBM x series and understanding of Data Centre environment, cabling, racking of servers
Preferred:
- Computer Science degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent.
- Strong and proven support experience with a customer service focus.
- Strong Change Management background and adherence to incident, problem and change process to implement and execute approved changes.
