Product Assortment, Creation and Online Merchandising

  • The E-Commerce Business Analyst  works with the Director of Retail and senior management and presents plans for product assortment and development initiatives to maximize the AOC’s online presence and e-sales. Works closely with the Merchandise Manager to plan and develop online store assortments, stock levels and vendor selection.
  • Works with the Operations Manager to ensure compliance and accuracy of product delivery, receiving, stocking, security and shipping. Coordinates with the Operations Manager in maintaining accuracy and security of funds processed through point of sale, ensures e-commerce is in full compliance with all security rules and regulations for retail, on-line and internal agency requirements.

Website Design

  • The E-Commerce Business Analyst is responsible for determining the format and features of the website in order to maximize clarity and ease of navigation for customers. Manages all e-commerce projects, including the oversight of the online store, ensuring online store performance is maximized and content is current including products, content, promotions, landing pages, banners, etc. Manages and monitors the creative and technical developments of the online store to ensure timely updates and a smooth and efficient online store operation. Ensures the online store content is sourced and created in a timely manner. Plans and develops innovative and creative initiatives that ensure a state-of-the-art online store with optimum user experience.
  • Writes and inputs web product copy into the store inventory management system; enters and maintains proper web navigations and ensures web product stock keeping units (SKU), pricing, content and availability is current and accurate. Responsible for acquisition of and production of digital images for the web, including color correction and sizing. Oversees and maintains the online store image library. Will liaise with the appropriate partners to keep the website current.

Marketing

  • Develops and implements approved email marketing strategies; plans and develop content, frequency, copy and images to support the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) mission. Collaborates with internal and external partners to maintain and execute existing and new programs that drive online and retail marketing. Keeps abreast of competition and direct market trends, researches visitor demographics in order to maximize search engine traffic. Plans and coordinates homepage and store merchandising features in accordance with online strategies and activities.

Business Financials

  • Is responsible for the financial planning and budgeting for all expenditures of the online site, online product assortment, e-marketing expenditures that will maximize resources. Participates and collaborates with internal and external partners in developing an annual budget for sales, expenses and inventory levels. Develops and writes e-commerce updates and reports on business results, sales trends, seasonal business and product highlights.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) to ensure accurate and adequate oversight of contractor performance according to contract requirements. Performs timely inspections to ensure compliance with job specifications, quality, timeliness and budget authorizations. Ensures that projects are effectively inspected, monitored, controlled and evaluated within timeliness, cost and performance conditions.

Customer Service and Operations

  • Ensures customer service inquiries are resolved in a professional, timely and efficient manner. Ensures orders are fulfilled within guidelines and on time. Coordinates with the Director of Retail and gift shop management to develop and update customer service programs for e-commerce including guidelines for shipping, wrapping, presentation and customer correspondence.
