The Legal Project Manager (LPM) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating both internal and client-facing projects. The LPM will develop process improvement initiatives and use project management methodologies to assist lawyer and legal officer find efficiencies in the way they organize and perform their work.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with attorneys on development of plans, budgets, timelines and documentation of clearly-defined scopes and assumptions re: work on Firm or client matters
- Identify and execute Firm process improvement projects
- Assist in the development of legal project management tools, resources and technologies, including software, templates, checklists, databases (including knowledge databases) and forms
- Manage the project lifecycle, including synthesizing & vetting requirements, system testing, operating model development, end user support
- Defining project scope, stakeholders, risks and issues
- Drafting project plan, business requirements
- Manage communication of status updates to stakeholders and Senior Management through presentations and reports used in different forums; Build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders in the different businesses
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, policies, and procedures for client legal project management objectives
- Develop and present communications of legal project management successes for use in internal Firm communications, client pitches.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of project management skills including leading and executing projects.
- Experience working with multiple corporate departments and personalities
- PMP preferred but not required
- Positive, professional, "lead by example" attitude
