We are looking to fill a role that would serve as an Automation Engineer. This role will build automation tooling that increases the efficiency of operations teams. Automation engineers are expected to have an understanding of event driven serverless architectures, the AWS platform and cloud security.
Key Responsibilities
A normal work week consists of a mix of building new features, fixing bugs, showcasing your work and planning. We keep scheduled meetings to a minimum. Members of the team actively communicate and collaborate in chat. Each member of the team is encouraged to contribute to discussions.
Individual members of the team are responsible for delivering on their commitments, but the team supports each other. The team pride themselves on the quality of their code, our delivery practices and breadth of our test coverage. You will be expected to document your work.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for developers with experience in some of the following areas:
- Python 3.7
- AWS - especially Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, CloudFormation, SQS, SAM
- Python testing tools – i.e. PyTest, flake8
- Integrating with third party APIs – i.e. GitHub, Jira, Cloudflare
- AWS Chalice framework
- Docker
- Git best practices – i.e. rebase, squash, bisect
- Kanban delivery – we are a scrum free team
