School Overview:

The School, is a private, non-profit educational institutions, with two purpose built campuses designed individually for boys and girls. The schools offer education starting from Pre-primary education to Class 12/Grade 12. Both the campuses are located in Karachi. 

Position Summary:

The Principal, reports to the Board of Directors and serves as the chief academic administrator for the Schools. The individual works collaboratively with the Vice-Principal. The position is responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each academic and administrative staff member.

Supervises: Vice-Principal and School Administrative Heads

Key Expectations:

1.      Academic Planning and Management: Provides academic and instructional leadership and identifies the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the school. Ensures design and delivery of effective learning methodologies, practices and processes inside and outside of classroom. Connects and networks with required accreditation/educational boards including Cambridge International Examination and Aga Khan University Examination Board. Conducts periodic academic assessments of students to analyze key areas of academic strengths and improvement.

2.      Human Resource Management: Develops a culture of high motivation, morale and performance. Helps the team align with the larger purpose and vision of the school. Drives accountability in the school through periodic and consistent reviews and feedback mechanisms. Sets high standards and communicates them effectively. Provides constant coaching and mentoring to teachers and provides support with a view to bringing out their best. Creates structures and processes to ensure that the school hires and retains the best talent.

3.      Organizational Development: Identify development needs of all personnel, academic and administrative, and create or outsource programs to develop capacity. This will include development of teacher training programs organized in collaboration with examination boards. Establish annual performance objectives of the campus, including increased enrollment, academic scores, co-curricular achievements, campus development and metrics to analyze student enrollment beyond the school in leading universities. Conduct institutional self-study against performance objectives to identify, analyze, and apply research findings to promote school improvement. Develop, maintain, and use information systems and records necessary to show campus progress on performance objectives.

4.      Administration and Infrastructure Management: Creates structures and systems to implement, monitor and review organizational initiatives. This would include setting and managing SOPs for all functions in the school ensuring its smooth running. Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school to ensure a safe and orderly climate, building maintenance, personnel management, office operations, and emergency procedures etc. Ensure compliance with all laws, board policies and academic regulations. Assume responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of students, employees and visitors.

5.      Budgeting and financial control: Develops budgets based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel, and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal control and accurately report fiscal information.

6.      Culture Enrichment: Champions the school philosophy with all its stakeholders. Creates and promotes a compelling vision of school to staff, teachers, parents, and students. Consciously models and builds a culture of excellence and service.

 Desired Qualifications:

  • A graduate degree or postgraduate certification in educational management, educational leadership.
  • Experience as a head of school, preferably with managing multiple campuses.
  • Experience as a teacher, with experience of designing and innovating curricular and instructional practices.
  • Prior experience in curricular environments of Cambridge International Examination and Aga Khan University Examination Board.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of business and finance

Compensation Package:
