Business Intelligence Analyst

SMB Services Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to join their team in Karachi. This full-time, onsite role operates from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will focus on developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to support business decisions. Working closely with various departments, the analyst will gather reporting requirements and create effective BI solutions. The position requires strong technical skills in data extraction, transformation, and loading, along with a sharp attention to data accuracy and system performance.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to provide accurate and actionable business insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutions. Extract, clean, transform, and load data from multiple sources using Power Query, Power BI Dataflows, SQL, and Excel. Design, optimize, and maintain Power BI semantic models with a focus on performance, scalability, and best practices. Build and support ETL/ELT processes leveraging Power Query, Dataflows, and other Microsoft BI tools to ensure seamless data integration. Utilize advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas, Power Query, and PivotTables, for data preparation and validation. Assist the Solutions Architect in preparing well-structured datasets aligned with business requirements. Keep up-to-date with BI trends, Power BI enhancements, data modeling standards, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and overall BI performance.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Proven experience as a BI Analyst, Power BI Developer, or in a similar data-driven role. Strong understanding of BI concepts, dashboard design principles, and data modeling techniques, including proficiency in DAX and M language. Advanced Excel skills covering formulas, PivotTables, and Power Query. Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes. Knowledge of data integration methods involving APIs, flat files, and cloud-based sources.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools is a plus. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality. Effective time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
