ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT: The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change. Present in Pakistan since 1968, the World Food Programme (WFP) works with the Government and partners to improve food security and nutrition among the most vulnerable communities across the country. In 2024, WFP reached 3.2 million people across Pakistan through livelihoods and resilience programmes, nutrition prevention and treatment, school meals and social protection programmes.

 

 

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

This position will be based in Peshawar Office and will report to Programme Policy Officer (Nutrition and Education) or alternate. The main purpose of this role is to support girl’s stipend, school meal and any other education activities and provide support in data management, analysis, and reporting. The incumbent will ensure accurate data collection, processing, and interpretation to track programme progress and strengthen accountability mechanisms. In additional to his/her regular activities, the incumbent is also expected to provide support other activities in similar manner.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide assistance in collecting, verifying, and organizing data from relevant sources, ensuring accuracy and timely submission in line with approved formats. Contribute to implementing data collection tools and aggregating data for processing at various levels. Provide assistance in cleaning and validating beneficiary data from cooperating partner(s) to ensure completeness and reliability. Facilitate timely response to data-related queries and coordinate escalation of complex issues to technical teams for resolution. Provide assistance in overseeing WFP SCOPE, MODA, and similar identity management tools. Facilitate the effective use of mobile-based data collection techniques by maintaining familiarity and supporting programme activities. Provide assistance in preparing beneficiary registration and cash disbursement records. Contribute to cross-checking actual cash disbursements with beneficiary registration and assist in reconciliation at the individual level. Ensure compliance with WFP data protocols, privacy, and security policies. Facilitate in capacity-building initiatives and contribute to programme-related activities.   Provide administrative support by managing schedules, documentation, records, organize meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action points. Participate in regular data related field activities with a focus on supporting data and analysis. Provide support in preparation of monthly progress and aggregate beneficiaries information. Quality assurance to prevent data duplication in WFP programme activities. Provide assistance in collecting information on assisted populations and facilitate the removal of duplicate records to ensure data accuracy. Contribute to establishing links between data and assistance systems. Perform any other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

Completion of Secondary School Education. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Statistics, Information Management is desirable.  

 

Experience:

Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience related to data management, database programming and in backend support for existing databases.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

Certifications would be an asset in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

Languages:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English, Urdu and Pashto.
