CARE International in Pakistan (CIP) is humanitarian agency, implementing emergency response programme in return areas of FATA agencies. CARE requires Pharmacy Dispenser to implement the RAPID funded Health project in North Waziristan Agency, FATA. The incumbent will be responsible to manage stock of medicine and their issuance to patients, to help/assist doctor and medical team in performing daily OPD in BHUs and various medical campaigns. The position is responsible for the timely delivery and ensuring quality standards of the varying health components implemented by CARE International in Pakistan within target affected areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Pharmacy dispenser will be based in North Waziristan Agency and will ensure consistent high quality community mobilization services under RAPID funded project.
§ To maintain proper inventory control system and provide information to Supervisor about medicine status.
§ To manage books relating to medicine stock like expenses, minimum stock, ledgers, demands, indent books, batch number date of manufacturing and expiry etc.
§ To perform periodic inspection of medicines.
§ To place order for purchase of medicine, receive and inform a quarter earlier about the expiry of medicines as to utilize the medicines on first in first out basis to minimize the expiry of products/medicines
§ To ensure smooth working of pharmacy and give daily feedback.
§ To maintain proper information system and submit reports to in charge of the programme.
§ To assist in data collection and participate in clinical audit.
§ In coordination with the line supervisor and Logistics team, ensure effective delivery and management of health materials and supplies in the field.
§ Efficient handling of medicine inventory
Working Conditions
Pharmacy Dispenser position is purely field based and requires regular field visit to target communities or BHUs.
Qualifications and Experience
§ 2 years Diploma in health technology/Nursing
§ 2 years of relevant experience
§ Basic knowledge of medicine.
§ Complete knowledge about the proper storage of medicine.
§ Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
§ Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
TECHNICAL SKILLS (Desired)
- Medicine Stock Management.
- Smooth functioning of pharmacy
- Strong communication skills in Pushto.
- Must be aware and sensitive to the culture, norms and values of FATA.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently in field.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in response to changing needs.
- Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disadvantaged populations
