Security Support Assistant, will provide field support ensuring that CARE’s security and safety protocols are followed and implemented at the Field Office. By undertaking assessment to inform management and field team with regular improvements in project execution and meeting high quality standard, the selected individual will support program implementation by satisfactorily undertaking liaison with government and law enforcement authorities (LEAs), to ensure safe movement of staff for CARE business and related safety and security risk, in the region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out timely security risk assessments of CARE’s program locations and make strong recommendations to ensure safe humanitarian program operations.
  • Ensure the implementation of the CO’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintaining secure operations for CARE staff members in field offices and field assignments. Assist the Safety and Security team to refine the SOPs as per program operations.
  • Support program implementation by satisfactorily undertaking liaison with government and law enforcement authorities (LEAs) to ensure safe movement of staff for CARE business and related safety and security risk.
  • Ensure that the field offices are fully secure with appropriate orientation and oversight of guards.
  • Vigilantly assess safety and security threats and risks to CARE field office staff, and disseminate alerts on time with appropriate recommendations/advice to staff.
  • Report to the Safety and Security Manager and Director External Relations of any instances of staff non-compliance to established protocols or procedures and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Oversee and ensure safe staff movements for CARE business.
  • Provide short daily progress updates and weekly progress reports to the Safety and Security Manager for Field office management etc.
  • Understand and comply with all CARE International and Pakistan safety and security policies, protocols, humanitarian principles, programming principles, CI PSEA Policy, CI Gender Policy and Core Values, and communicate to FO staff, as and when needed.
  • Monitor CCTV of field office.
  • Monitor Vehicle movement for Field office.
  • Send security and safety alerts to all staff by SMS and email.
  • Provide first aid in case of emergency to any staff member in need.
  • Monitor daily checklist of official vehicles to ensure that all fleet is in excellent condition.

Job Specifications:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree. In case an individual holds an intermediate level degree, then he/she should possess at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 4 years of similar work experience of serving in LEA’s and/ or other security firms.
  • Experience of working with an international donor organization/ NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Should be able to prepare reports in MS word/Excel/outlook/power point.
  • Individual having a FATA domicile will be given preference for the position based in FATA.
