Frontend Engineer (HTML, CSS, JS)
This is a full-time role based out of Lahore, Pakistan.
CarSwitch is a tech startup based out of Dubai. We’re on a mission to digitize peer to peer used car sales in the GCC region and make the process easier, faster and more transparent for end users. CarSwitch is currently the second largest used car player in the UAE and recently launched in Saudi Arabia to further bolster our growth. We’ve received more than $10m in funding to date and been featured in news/media outlets across the region, most recently featuring in Forbes' list of top 50 startups in the Middle East.
We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design mockups to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with design, product management and development teams to create elegant, usable, responsive and interactive interfaces across multiple devices.
- Turning UI/UX designs into prototypes, creating awesome interactions from designs, writing reusable content modules and maintainability of the code.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability, including a strict focus on Core Web Vitals and other SEO-focused optimizations
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Skills Required
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools such as Figma
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
- Familiarity using Scrum/Agile development methodologies
