Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment:
- Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
- Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
- Observes packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications.
- Starts adjust, and repairs packaging machinery notifies the maintenance department.
- Trains workers in operation of equipment.
- Requisitions containers and other supplies for delivery to work stations.
- Performs other duties as described under Production Manager.
- Pack, weigh, and label completed items for shipment or storage.
- Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging.
- Identify and dispose of defective items.
- Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc.
- Keep complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean work area.
