Job Description

MS 365 administration (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange etc.)

  • Ensuring the operational health of the MS 365 environment including security, availability, performance, interoperability and reliability
  • Administration, support and configuration of MS 365 for staff and external consultants
  • Maintenance/sustainment of existing client SharePoint sites and sub sites, lists, libraries, and content (including pages, workflows, and items)
  • Maintenance/sustainment of MS 365 groups, shared mailboxes, distribution lists
  • Maintenance, and sustainment of content shared with external consultants
  • Administer and support an enterprise-level Microsoft Exchange infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot all MS 365 related issues when alerted by monitoring software

General IT: end-user support and training for hardware and software

  • Maintain and provide support for all IT infrastructure
  • Providing end-user support for all PC based hardware, applications and services
  • Training and educating end-users on MS 365 capabilities and collaboration tools (OneDrive, Skype, OneNote, Outlook etc)
  • Develop and perform new user setup and orientation including installing and configuring workstations, software, telephone services, network printing, etc.
  • Provide tier 1 and tier 2 support and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot OS, network and storage related issues

IT systems maintenance, operational security and governance

  • Troubleshoot various MS 365 issues including connectivity and mobility
  • Set up and manage users and computers in Active Directory
  • Maintain and provide support for Azure instances and on-premises servers
  • Manage virtual machines used for web applications and perform routine database maintenance
  • Maintain the antivirus software infrastructure, ensure data security and encryption of data
  • Maintain compliance with IT relevant data protection guidelines (GDPR) and internal procedures, including regular backups
  • Responsible for logical and physical controls of the company’s IT system by providing, on a quarterly basis, documented assurance that access to computer resources (data, equipment and facilities) is reasonable and restricted to authorized individuals (within and outside of the organization)
  • Conduct routine monitoring and analysis to include Audit Log Reports evaluation, system and storage utilization reports, site and system usage, growth reports, and manage site collection quota settings
  • Perform software upgrades and patches (bios, firmware upgrades, etc.)
  • Manage software licenses

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Expert knowledge and administrative experience of platforms and solutions:

  • Experience administering MS 365: SharePoint, Exchange, Azure Active Directory environments, Group Policy Deployment
  • Core Microsoft Office 365 applications and all associated features (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive etc)

o   Microsoft Azure Platform

o   Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019 (including Active Directory/DNS/Group Policy etc

o   Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013

o   VMWare ESXi

o   Microsoft IIS

o   Microsoft Windows desktop operating system (Windows 10)

o   Mac OS operating system

  • Help desk experience and ability to provide technical and end-user support
  • Excellent Networking skills (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, Firewalls, switch management)
  • Good working knowledge of cloud computing environments (Azure, AWS)
  • Experience of voice and conferencing platforms (eg 3CX, Zoom, VoIP, PBX, Skype for Business)
  • Ability to apply ITIL processes to the provision of IT support
  • The ability to investigate and trouble-shoot a wide range of technical problems, with patience, resourcefulness and a desire to help
  • Microsoft operating system qualification(s) MCP, with a good working knowledge of server & desktop operating systems
  • Credible knowledge of networking and VPN, firewall and WiFi solutions (Cisco, Meraki), switch management and other wireless access points
  • Working knowledge of data storage systems, data backup and restore methods, email filtering and antivirus / security products
  • Knowledge of SQL database maintenance
  • Working knowledge of data tools (SurveyCTO, Survey Solutions, MAXQDA), project management software (Wrike), and programming skills (Stata, Python) are beneficial.
