a.Conducting field visits as required, in order to conduct ethnographic
interviews in rural and urban Punjab.
b. Keeping accurate notes of all elements of the field visit, conveying this
information through relevant reporting structures including translations
where required, and preparing periodic reports about the field as required.
c. Assisting in the development of a field team for qualitative research. This will
include reaching out to possible candidates, conducting interviews during
the hiring process and assist in developing training protocols and training of
the field team.
d. Act as a liaison between the research team and field team.
e. Thinking creatively and critically about the interview instrument including design and testing of the instrument in the field, writing comprehensive field reports, conducting focus groups, follow-up phone calls, and translation of documents as per the requirement of the project.
The Center for Economic Research in Pakistan’s strategic objective is to help catalyze international quality economic research on Pakistan and inform policy and practice in the country. To achieve our goals, we facilitate theoretical and empirical research relevant to Pakistan by domestic and global academia and bring together academic findings, policy advice, and focused debate. Our work seeks to promote the use of evidence-based decision-making among actors working towards social and economic development.
